The Friday night the start of our crazy weekend........
This is just a quick post as I am seriously sleep deprived and starting to go a little loopy. It all started on Friday when I took Aidan to the doctors as he seemed a little under the weather(he had a cold that had gone on for nearly two weeks). Well our wonderful doctor checked him out and everything seemed to be good, which was a relief. Sometimes I feel like I panic a little to early when I see a wierd bump or a wierd behaviour in my children, but I so believe in a mother's instinct to detect something wrong in her children.
Aidan has been one of those babies that hardly ever cries, so when he woke up in the middle of the night on Friday night and was visibly distressed I knew there must have been something up. Well this was only the beginning of all our fun over the weekend. I think myself and my husband have taken turns all weekend attending to the poor little fellow as he was having high temperatures and was very restless in his sleep, I honestly feel like I was living with newborn triplets lol.
Anyway we had a birthday party that Amber was invited to on Sunday and decided as Aidan still had a very high temperature and the fear of swine flu going around that he might have the dreaded flu! So we split up I took Amber to the party and David took Aidan up to the hospital.
This is where all the fun started, I think David spent a good four hours up at the hospital and as soon as they arrived and they had taken Aidan's temperature they were both swept straight away to quarantine and both given masks to wear( you can just imagine trying to keep a mask on an eight month old can't you!).
Well they finally took a swab of Aidan's mucus and told us that the results of this test would take a day or two to be processed and that we would all be placed in quarantine at home until we received the results. Not a great idea when you have a home business and a five year old that loves going to school and has been told that she has no choice but to stay at home. David was calling his stay at home "House arrest lol", which now that I think about it was kind of correct as we were already very tired and cranky and another 24 hours with each other for company just seemed like an insane idea lol!
Well it was a stressful 24 hours and a nervous wait to find out whether we were about to spend a whole week with only each others company(it was starting to sound like a sucicide mission to me lol). Anyway we made it ans thankfully we were all cleared of swine flu and even though Aidan still had a high temperature it was a big relief to know that we were cleared of something so scary.
So another trip back to the doctors this afternoon and we think Aidan has Roseola which is a virus that is quite common in 6 to 12 month old babies and usually means that they have at least 72 hours of high fevers followed by a blotchy rash that appears all over there body at the peak of the fever, so we are just waiting now to see if this rash comes to fruition tomorrow morning.
So that was our weekend in a nut shell, I only hope that next weekend is a little more boring than this one and hopefully this is closest that we come to Swine flu (oink oink)!
On a side note this is the first piccy of our little man with his very new two front teeth, not an easy feat to get a piccy of his newly aquired toothy pegs as I think he wanted to keep them under rapts so he could surprise any willing victims that were brave enough to sticking their fingers in his mouth lol!
Our little mans new teeth!
